Photography: Historical and Inspirational

Thursday, February 19, 2026, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Join us for a tour of two photography exhibits at the McLean Project for the Arts.

The first exhibit is a retrospective of photographs by Bernard (Bernie) Boston. Bernie was a long time McLean resident and award-winning photojournalist who was the first African American member of the White House press corps, covering every president from Truman through Clinton. The Atrium Gallery exhibit will feature framed photographs from his fascinating career.

The second, PhotoGenesis 2, features pieces by 20 artists and aims to highlight artists using photography as inspiration, concept or process and in inventive, unexpected and often unconventional ways.

The McLean Project for the Arts (MPA) is a leading contemporary visual arts non-profit organization dedicated to connecting art and community. Their mission is to serve artists and the public in the Mid-Atlantic region by exhibiting the work of emerging and established artists, fostering the understanding of contemporary art, and offering art education and instruction for people of all ages and potentials.
