Spring Semester Updates
How can I be in two places at the same time?
We realize there are students registered for courses that may be adjoining in two places, ie one is virtual and the other being in-person. Encore Learning will offer three virtual classes to be viewed in-person at George Mason University. (Encore Learning will open the Zoom class in a classroom, the instructor and other students will all be on Zoom.) We will survey students enrolled in these classes to see if they wish to view it in-person at Mason. The location of the virtual class will be shared with students who are registered for the virtual class. These are the virtual classes which will be setup for participation at George Mason University Van Metre Hall:
- 5046 – On the Road to Canterbury with Geoffrey Chaucer
- 4048 – 2024 Election – Divided We Stand
- 4049 – Global Hot Spots
We are also recording some select courses. These classes are being recorded so if you miss a class you may view it later. The recordings will be available until 30 days after the last class session. You must be registered for the course to have access to the recording. Sign up for these classes to get access to the recordings:
- 7033 – Death to DEI? The Past, Present and Future of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategies
- 1044 – Storied American Art Museums
- 5049 – Tolstoy’s Short Fiction

Sad but true.
Yes, we have courses that fill up. These classes are limited in capacity and a few filled up within five minutes! If you are on the waiting list you will be notified if a space becomes available. It’s also helpful for us to know how many are on the waiting list so we can encourage the instructor to teach again.
