Judging Lincoln’s Assassins: Tour of Grant Hall at Ft. McNair

The trial and execution of President Lincoln’s assassins took place on what is now Fort McNair, an active military installation that hosts top-ranking administration officials and the National War College.  The courthouse has been restored to its 1865 configuration, and the site of the gallows can be seen from its third-floor windows.  Join us for an exclusive tour of the facilities, and learn about the arrest, trial, and hanging of the conspirators.  Because of its secure location, special access procedures are in place, and the list of participants must be submitted two weeks in advance — by September 9.  Please do not sign up unless you are confident that you will attend.
